Hits Before Your Mother Was Born, part I

Playing tracks by

Al Jolson, Arthur Collins & Byron Harlan, Billy murray, Waldorf-Astoria Dance Orchestra (vocals by Irving & Jack Kaufman), Zon-O-Phone Concert Band and more.

Songs from 1899-1922, with the exception of track 18, which I used as a lead into the original track upon which it was based. The frog in the cartoon was found by a construction worker inside a cornerstone of a building that was being demolished in 1955. The building was originally built in 1892, but the singing frog that emerged inexplicably knew songs that came after that date, including the featured song of Hello My Baby. Sorry for the quality of track 19, but it is the oldest song included and the sound of songs from the late 1800s in general is often unlistenable (why I only used this song from that period). This mix was made over four years ago following my previously furthest back mix of songs from 1925. 'Mixxer' from Art of the Mix and Zen Running Order encouraged me to go further back and I met the challenge head on with this three part mix.
