The Kochi-Muziris Biennale, held in Kochi, Kerala, is the largest art exhibition in India and the biggest contemporary art festival in Asia. Resonance is an outreach partner of KMB, as is Safina Radio Project (https://www.safinaradioproject.org/) which presents the latest in a series of collaborative broadcasts from the Biennale. Today: Today: Considering colonial histories. Julie Gogh explores connections between Tasmania and Kochi; Annu Palakunnathu Matthew and Nathaniel Gaskell on the development of photography in India and her multi-disciplinary work confronting fraught notions of national identity; and Sue Williamson discusses narratives of slavery and the significance of naming. Note: this show comes amid accusations of underpayment by Kochi Biennale Foundation to some of the production workers. Safina Radio Project is an independent programme that believes in free conversation about art and supports every person who has contributed to the realisation of work.
