In a three part series curator, artist and musician Aki Onda (http://www.akionda.net/) explores the work of Filipino ethnomusicologist turned composer José Maceda (1917 - 2004) (http://www.composers21.com/compdocs/macedaj.htm), who bridged the Western avant-garde music with the indigenous sounds of his homeland. Episode 1: Maceda's "Cassette 100" scored for 100 cassettes; and "Ugnayan" for 20 radio stations, both composed in the 1970s.
