A bilingual programme (English & Spanish) presented by critic and producer Javier Chandía which covers Latin American music from its roots to the avant-garde. This week: the music of Víctor Jara, (28/09/1932 – 16/09/1973) who played a pivotal role amongst the neo-folkloric musicians that established the Nueva Cancion Chilena (New Chilean Song) movement. This led to an uprising of new political songs in popular music during the administration of President Salvador Allende.
