My History of House-Part 1

My History of House-Part 1

Playing tracks by

Frankie Knuckles and Reggie Finch, Isaac Hayes, Marshall Jefferson, Steve “Silk” Hurley, Farley Jackmaster Funk and more.

This is the first in a series of ten that sets out where House music started back in 1985.This show has my favourite early house songs all on 12"vinyl,crackles and all, that I played when I was DJing in clubs over Europe,Bulgaria and London. This is my account of how House started in Chicago and then moved across the World between 1985 and 1990 and during this series I will visit New York,Detroit,Ibiza,London,Milan and Ghent and play songs that have not been played on the radio in over 20 years and some of the rare vinyl was possibly never played at all especially the promos and the limited releases from Belgium.
I hope you enjoy these records as much as I did back in the day.
Reggie Finch

Don't Worry About The Words

Excellent stuff - been listening to "Love Can't Turn Around" by Farley Jackmaster Funk for nearly 25 years and didn't know til I heard this mix that it was in fact a nice little sample of Isaac Hayes "I Can't Turn Around".

This is going into the curriculum folder.
