In this special program for Radio Ensayo, artists and scientists Ken Barrett, Heather Angus-Leppan, Stephen Brown and Andy Platman present some fragments from Brainland, an opera about the dark history of 20th century brain science. This work explores how the discovery and military exploitation of brain waves (EEG), and the earliest experiments in psychosurgery, changed forever the understanding of the human brain and its manipulation.
