Stuart Dempster joins host Michael Schell for an interview encompassing the highlights of his long career as a trombonist, composer and lynchpin of the Northwest's new music scene. We also preview upcoming albums featuring Augusta Read Thomas (with Third Coast Percussion) and Sivan Eldar (with Juliet Fraser), new compositions by Thomas Adès (with Kirill Gerstein & the BSO) and Linda Catlin Smith (with Richard Valitutto), and Cancelled Music by Seattle’s own Marcin Pączkowski. Radical new music from the Northwest and beyond!

Also featured are Seattle Modern Orchestra, Julia Tai, Andrew Imbrie, Panaiotis, Joe McPhee, David Gamper, Edwin London, and Cliff Colnot on the Mode, NMC, New Focus, New Albion, New World, Nimbus, ZA and Deutsche Grammophon labels. Photo credits in Comments.
