Chart positions

This show was 4th in the global noise chart, 8th in the global classical chart and 36th in the global chill chart.

Curious about the premiere recording of Sorabji’s Sequentia Cyclica Super Dies Irae, but don’t have 8½ hours to devote to it? Radio Eclectus has you covered with 1½ hours of highlights from this piano epic. Come wet your feet as we tackle the sound world of one of modern music’s most eccentric and prodigious figures.

Plus James "Blood" Ulmer turns 80, Lindsey Goodman & friends play Peter Castine, and JACK Quartet & So Percussion play Dan Trueman. Seattleites Robin Holcomb, trio CHA and Dale Lloyd are heard alongside Europeans Michael Pelzel, Judith Weir and Alwynne Pritchard, while an excerpt from Detlev Glanert's latest opera rounds out the playlist. Radical new music!

Rod Stasick

Because of a health issue, I was able to sit (or lie down, actually) with the complete "Sequentia Cyclica" last month. Fans of the Opus Clav (Ogden version, especially) may enjoy this work as well. Thanks!

Radio Eclectus

Sorabji's got the invalid niche down I guess. And I'm inclined to concur that the Sequentia Cyclica Super DIes Irae is the most compelling long work of his that I've heard besides Opus Clavicembalisticum. Thanks for the comment!

Otherwise, hope you're feeling better!
