After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Dick Richmond joined United Press International Newspictures in St. Louis as the bureau manager for five years.
He was then offered a position on the staff of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, where he spent most of his 38 years there in the entertainment field as a reviewer, feature writer, columnist and editor.
In a way, his adventures are connected to the paper because his job at the time in which they started was as editor of the paper’s breakthrough daily color section. It was while he was hunting for a story to fill that page that he met a successful undersea treasure hunter who invited him on his first expedition.
Richmond's books as author include "Treasure Under Your Feet," "In the Wake of the Golden Galleons," "Diabetes: The Facts That Let You Regain Control of Your Life" and "Produced By Contemporary." Those as editor include "The Male Homemaker's Handbook" and "You Can Be Rich By Thursday."
