Arriving in the UK from Akron Ohio witnessing the birth of punk. Initially getting into rock journalism with the help of the influentialNick Kent she then ended working at Malcolm McLaren’s ’Sex boutique in the King’s Rd. She finally joined up with among others the great James Honeyman Scott who’s jangly guitar served as a counterpoint to Chrissie Hynde’s rocky/punk tendencies (which also at times had delicious melodies.) Hynde became one of the few female rock artists to take the boys on at their own game & win, that was a colossal thing to achieve back then. As you will hopefully see with this collection she has a stellar catalogue of work.
