The second fructa talk hosts Cana Bilir-Meier, who studied digital media art, film and art education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, at the University Sabancı in Istanbul as well as at the school for independent film Friedl Kubelka.
She works as a filmmaker and artist in projects of art and cultural mediation. Her cinematic, performative and text-based works oscillate at the interfaces between archive work, text production, historical research and contemporary media reflexivity or archaeology.
Her work was awarded the Birgit Jürgenssen Preis in 2016 and the ars viva Prize in 2018. Her pieces have been shown at the Tensta Konsthall (Stockholm), the Kunsthalle Wien and the Diagonale - Festival for Austrian Film.
She lives in Munich and Vienna.
