Soul Searching IV

Soul Searching IV

About the show

Playing tracks by

Joe Simon, Johnny & the Expressions, T.U.M.E., Angela Bofill, Jimmy Bo Horne and more.

One of the best tracks in this mix is the doo wop disco of American Italians The Earls (a bit similar to the Four Seasons). It sounds incredibly good! You can feel the excitement of the singer. It’s a rework of their sixties original in a style that is comparable to disco vocal groups, such as the Trammps. And don’t forget to enjoy one of the best soul songs ever from George McCrae! I included the long version. Together with ‘Rock the boat’ from Hues Corporation perhaps one the most influential disco tracks ever. I end with telling you that Johnny from Johnny & the Expressions sounds very much like rock singer Del Shannon. Enjoy!
