When the Sony Walkman was not invented yet, each and every one brought his own music device to the beach to turn it on in public. It resulted in many different sounds from dozens of transistor radios. This cacophony on the beach inspired me to create this episode of Mellow Mellow FM. Enjoy!

"Beach baby beach baby, give me your hand...give me somethin' that i can remember"....hehe. 1974 when i was young sixteen & thought this was a new Beach Boys song..full of summer this show, Eddy....great job as well with the jingles and American Top 40 hero Casey Kasom!
Thank you so much, Holger! Yes, Beach Baby sung by famous session singer Tony Burrows sounds a lot like the Beach Boys, but I love the happy feeling of it. 1974 was a great summer, in fact it was the first summer I can recollect.

and finally....story about this song made german Singer Peter Maffay more famous in 1976 with his different song "Und Es War Sommer" or "And It Was Summer", hehe, i prefer the Bobby number!
That’s a funny story to read, because there is a Dutch version from 1976 as well, called Het werd zomer (It became summer). I like Millie’s version best, she’s such a great artist. Her daughter sings with Yacht Rock Revue, by the way.

I donl’t recommend the Dutch version about a 16 year old guy and a 28 year old girl . Nowadays these lyrics would be totally inappropriate.
