1982 The Last Year Of Disco

1982 The Last Year Of Disco

Chart positions

This show was 2nd in the global funk chart, 2nd in the global funk - soul - jazz chart, 3rd in the global disco chart, 8th in the global soul chart and 8th in the global r&b chart.

Can you believe it? This year 40 years ago… 1982 was probably the last year of disco. The following year electronics took over and the first house records were played in clubs (Nucleus, Cybotron). It was time for change, to quote Barry White. To salute disco, I selected some of the greatest R&B hits of 1982. Enjoy my 700th one on Mixcloud, being here since the 3rd of September 2009! 😊

By the `80s disco had grown up, some of the best tracks ever, this is a great set, and thank you for putting up the playlists....

Professor Eddy

Thanks, Roger! Yes, you put it right. Disco sounds very mature in 1982.
