Guest Aaron Miller, Director Arlington County Public Safety Communications and Emergency Management (PSCEM) joined the Department in March 2018. Before then, he was Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness for the City of New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was responsible for administration and oversight of the city’s homeland security enterprise – including development of preparedness policy, plans and initiatives, and leading the city’s public safety unified command group through high-profile special events, critical incidents and major disasters. He also oversaw the establishment of New Orleans’ first Real-Time Crime Center, development of a comprehensive public safety plan to secure the iconic French Quarter, and an expansion of the NOLA Ready community preparedness program. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University. His previous experience includes emergency medical services, and collegiate emergency response.
