Jeremy Epstein is Deputy Division Director for computer and network systems research at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Prior to his current role at NSF, he was a program manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Lead Program Officer for NSF's cybersecurity research program, and a Senior Computer Scientist at SRI International. In the voting space, he was IEEE's representative to the Election Assistance Commission's Technical Guidelines Development Committee, Standards Writing Group. He's performed research for the US Election Assistance Commission, been a consultant to the Kentucky Attorney General, and served on several Virginia State and local commissions on voting systems security. Jeremy is Chief Election Officer for Fairfax County Virginia's precinct #841, where he enjoys learning the real world aspects of elections.
