Jimmy Riley begins his adventure with music in school when he meets Slim Smith. When Slim, successfully copes with The Techniques - Jimmy decides set up his band The Sensations, which included Cornell Campbell, Buster Riley (brother of Winston Riley) and Aaron Davis. Group passes successful audition at Duke Reid and recorded such hits as "Everyday is Just a Holiday" and "Those Guys". Riley leaves the group in 1967, and joined the reformed group The Uniques, where together with Slim Smith and Lloyd Charmers record timeless hit "My Conversation". After another break-up of The Uniques - Jimmy records as a solo artist for Bunny "Striker" Lee, but soon decided to become an independent artist and producer.

Riley had number of well-received albums and singles of which the greatest hits are undoubtedly "Nyah Binghi", "Tell The Youths The Truth," "Love And Devotion" or "Clean Up The Streets" to name just a few.
