Live from Beijing, China... it's THAT'S A RAP! This week, your gallant and unflinching hosts Calvin Pollak and Paul Creasy explore the relationship between two of music's most popular genres: rap and rock. They play four of their favorite relevant songs and talk about them. They conclude on a note of caution, reminding listeners of some of this union's most ludicrous offspring, imploring rappers and rockers alike to be responsible when courting each other.

Great Podcast but Hah! Call that rap rock? The Hip Hop songs you played calling "rap rock" good, only had a rock beat and none of the necessary guitars. Wheres the Run DMC/Aerosmith Walk this way? Faith no more - Epic? Whilst the rap metal of Fred Durst, however, is generally undefendable. I have to say I have quite a penchant for Linkin Park though the example you produced was of a generally poor quality example. Where do you stand on Kid Rock? I remember crying with pain when I heard him cover Metallica - Sad but true with his evil rhymes!

Oh but how could I forget to mention Incubus - (SCIENCE) Redefine! And if you want to hear rap metal done right, I recommend some Hed PE and System of a Down (Sugar, Prison Song, Chop Suey) who manage to include RAP without it sounding like a weird fusion, but more a reinvention :)
