Playing tracks by

The Knife, Matthew E. White, St.Vincent, Daphni, Fela Kuti and more.

A hangover from my 100th show last week, I’ve allowed myself the indulgence to playlist another bunch of favourite tracks played on the show over the last 3 years. Enjoy this funky, fun and bangin’ selection of tunes from the vaults. :-)

Hi Paul. just wanted to say really really enjoyed the 100 + 101 editions of the roast what a cracking choice of tracks. Dee-lite made me chuckle and there's too many to mention that stood out for me... looking forward to the next installment! Thanks so much for producing such a highlight to my week it really keeps me going on the road!!! Hope you had a minute to look at the band Transformer from Brighton (UK) great housey disco style !!!! Im curious to know what you do when youre not researching music and how you came to be cooking up such audible delights on Sunday evenings.... Cheers Johnny in Sussex.

Hi Johnny, cheers for the email, it's always good to hear from my listeners and check out the feedback, good or bad. I really enjoyed putting together my personal faves played on the show over the last 3 years, although, I was hell to leave out some tracks. It's a 2 hour show and that presents constraints sometimes. I did go and check out Transformers and there are a couple of tracks I could see fitting into the vibe of my show. Listen up tomorrow, I'll dedicate one of theirs to you :-) Regarding putting the show together, I spend a lot of time searching out new stuff to play, giving most genres a spin on my turntables. The show is geared to what I like and if the listeners enjoy it, great. My background is someone who has worked in the disability sector for the last 20 years and until I started The Sunday Roast, I had never done anything like it before. RDU gave me the opportunity, as an untried and untested host and here I now am, looking forward to the next 100 shows. Keep on keeping on and thanks for tuning in. Groove is in the heart :-)
