Editor Cary Clack joins us to talk about a work in progress--an anthology of African-American writing from Texas. Along with Steve Davis, Literary Curator of the Wittliff Collections, we discuss some of the selections that will be included. The anthology will cover African-American writing from slave narratives to the present day, including E. Sutton Grigg's Imperium in Imperio, a speculative novel from 1899; Gwendolyn Bennett's Harlem Renaissance poetry; and contemporary works by Attica Locke and Casey Gerald.
