Hey man! You're not alone. SOPHIE occupied a very unique place in the world of avant-pop. Almost unclassifiable at times - hyperkinetic, experimental, and yet highly digestible. My introduction was 'Bipp' in 2013, and that was really a breath of fresh air. That sound caught fire so quickly, that the list of SOPHIE's collaborations is pretty extensive. As such SOPHIE only has one album proper, and one compilation of that early work. I'd start with 'Product' to get a good overview of SOPHIE's sound, and then see how that sound translates into production for other artists. Definitely a hugely unique talent that barely had time to shine, but the records remain, and so does SOPHIE's influence.
where does one start with Sophie ? I am a bit embarrassed that I didnt know about her until she passed away.
