Cal Jader's Tropicalista: 2010 in the mix

Cal Jader's Tropicalista: 2010 in the mix

Playing tracks by

Sunlightsquare, Empresarios, Roberto Carlos Vs Armand Van Helden, MC Robinho Vs The Beatles, The Specials and more.

So in the rather pointless but somehow satisfying completist task of trying round up 2010 I threw together a selection of tracks, album tracks or mash ups released (or blogged!) this year that I’ve been playing in my sets in one unashamedly upfront and quite cheesy DJ mix!

Starting off with Latin beats from Cuba to Colombia and Brazil via New York and the UK. Covering Salsa Dura, Cumbia, Ska and Bashy Hip Hop Ragga through to Mambo and Speed Merengue to Tribal Guarachero, Moombahton and Techno Brega! Throwing in some crazy mash ups Britney Spears, Armand Van Helden, The Beatles and a Beyonce cover version! And ending up with an Afro-Disco vibe from Nigeria to South African and beyond.

Appropriately as a celebration of 2010 this is named after our New Year's Eve party at Rich Mix in East London alongside Hackney Globe Trotting, the fantastic Latin Dub Soundsystem and AJ Holmes and The Hackney Empire (featured on the mix)
