First of all, by “50/50 Gender Showdown” I mean half the songs are by women and half the songs are by men…. not that all the songs were made by dual-gendered individuals.
This is more of a vinyl listening session than any kind of crazy dj mix. Every track but one is from a record, I’ll give you a bunch of money if you can tell which song is the digital one. At the time of creation, I was also reading “The Corrections” by Jonathan Franzen and rubbing a dog’s belly….so no beat matching and audio trickery in this mix.
If you aren’t aware, my chum Victor and myself have a party on the 3rd Friday of the month called “Gin & Phonic” at a place called The Piston here in Toronto. Vic (Dj Diabloavacado) is adding to his worldliness down in Peru right now, so this Friday Double K (mixcloud.com/parkdaleFunk/) and Chris Butcher, a great trombone player (Heavyweights Brass Band) will be coming in to make the night complete.
