It's getting to rainy season here in Brazil, so the sun is being stingy with it's rays. This is actually good for me as it means there's no need to apply SPF 60000 sunscreen every 17 minutes. This mix started coming together in my head after a nice chillax on Ipanema beach on an overcast, 20 degree day with almost nobody on it. It's peculiar to see such a famous, massive stretch of beach almost abandoned. There was one lass in fine form adorned in a bikini, but I managed to avoid staring by watching the ocean, looking at Morro Dois Irmãos (one of Rio's defining hills) and at this pigeon standing on a coconut.
The tunes go quickly from some Detroit Emeralds into a bit of Brazilian funk, over to some snazzy latin tracks and from there to modern afro-reggae hybrids ending on electrified reggae revampings. Hope it's up to snuff!
