On Sunday, there was the 2nd annual Feira de Vinil (Vinyl Fair) here in Rio...located at the Clube Israelita Brasileiro ( Israeli Club of Brasil) where audio pushers/pimps brought thousands upon thousands of records for the groove jackals to fight over. It was saturated with hyper-focussed men being orbited by bored girlfriends holding bags (not to say there weren't a few crate diggin' ladies....but 90% men...why is that?) The result was 3 records on the "to find while in Brazil" list and brought the number of LPs acquired here up to 20 (in 3 weeks).
So basically there was a samba/mpb/batucada/forro/maracatu/brazilian jazz/Tropicalia overload that short-circuited the noggin', and this mix contains nothing of what I just yammered about. This particular aural jaunt was merely an exercise in keeping the 'on-the-fly' skills intact during this period of time without a live dance floor or audience (except for m'lady and cat that hangs out outside the window). Listen in underpants.
