What an eclectic mix!
(As John Peel might say.)
Well, we were thinking about John Peel: it was the weekend of Glastonbury, busy celebrating a glorious 40 years. Mike doesn't usually go to festivals, but he went to Glast - once - the very first one! It wasn't even called Glast then, just a strange, small gathering of musicians at Pilton Farm, with Stackridge on the first afternoon and Marc Bolan (before he went electric, accompanied by a bongo man).
Then we talked about being in Eccles Library last week, when local actor Christopher Eccleston came down for the grand re-opening. (Are we 'name dropping' yet?)
Then there was the invasion of Salford by researchers from Goldsmiths' College in London. It's a long way to come to be cynical.
And what can stop the BBC moving onto Salford Quays next year? We sent for John Lennon, to 'Imagine'.
Plus a nod to local heritage group 'Retracing Salford', who are trying to archive the memories before the whole lot vanishes.
What a show!
