The idea to record this mix came up five years ago during my trip to Chile. While visiting one of the malls, I came across a small desk with antique vinyl: "What are you looking for, young man?" - asked the seller. "Rock, psychedelic rock from Chile and Argentina," - I replied. The seller disappeared and returned with a stack of vinyl. That’s how I got albums of «Aguaturbia» and «Xingu» in my collection, and began my acquaintance with the fantastic world of Latin rock and psychedelia. After that I continued digging in every new place in search of the best examples of local rock and folk of 60s and 70s: Turkey, France, Brazil, Australia, Malaysia, Denmark, India, Spain, Colombia, Poland, Hungary and Russia – in each country I went to shops or met with vinyl dealers in search of local artists and authentic sound. This material has formed this multicultural mix.
«Kaleidoscope» is more than just a mix, it’s a journey through time and culture.
