Radio interview with Liberty Publishing House author Boris Mogilevsky and his book "Notes of an Antiques Swindler". (Борис Могилевский , Записки афериста-антиквара)
Mogilevsky discusses his book which presents the world of collectors, swindlers, thieves and that of Soviet prisoners. There was a non-traditional large group in the Soviet society – the collectors, which existed outside the law- since the Soviet law did not recognize private collections.
This group of private collectors supported an underground network of artists, falsifiers, swindlers and distributors who functioned in the Soviet underground. It was this sector of people who harbored the non-political but still people who refused to be bent by the Soviet regime and which indirectly rendered support for the future dissidents.
Interview in Russian language.
