Laverie Sentimentale / state of fashion / VéBé van Steijn Laundry - Arnhem (NL) 1st July 2022

Laverie Sentimentale is a radio program hosted by Anna Piroska Tóth that aims to become a space of resonance by bringing back the relationalities that existed through and within the performance of the collective labour of cleaning and caring for clothes.

Its first iteration occurred at state of fashion, as a creative contribution to the conference ‘Ways of Caring – Practicing Solidarity’. It was held in the Vébé van Steijn Laundry in the city of Arnhem; turning the neutral, functional, individualising environment of the laundromat into a gathering site that allows us to nurture both collectivity and intimacy.
It contains various sonic propositions around and about emotional stains imbued in garments and the many facets of the act of cleaning.
