LPO Composer in Residence, Magnus Lindberg discusses his music and life as a composer with Ivan Hewett.

At the end of January the LPO performed its first commission from the orchestra's new composer in residence, the Finnish composer Magnus Lindberg. 'Accused', for soprano and orchestra set texts from three real interrogations – historical and contemporary – in a powerful and political work. In the premiere, soprano Barbara Hannigan sang the demanding solo role which asks her to take the position of both interrogator and the accused.
