The Mythmakers

About the show

THE MYTHMAKERS - featuring the concept of friendship between J. M Barry Born born May 9, 1860, in Scotland, and Robert Falcon Scott born on 6 June 1868 in Devonport. J.M. Barrie was a Scottish dramatist, best known for writing Peter Pan in 1904. Robert Falcon Scott became a naval cadet at the age of 13 and served on a number of Royal Navy ships in the 1880s and 1890s. He attracted the notice of the Royal Geographical Society, which appointed him to command the National Antarctic Expedition of 1901-1904. The expedition - which included Ernest Shackleton - reached further south than anyone before them and Scott returned to Britain a national hero. This is an imaginary, exciting and creative concept of the two great mens conversations with each other conveying the great respect each had for the other. Produced and written by our two interviewees Rosie Craig and Richard White of CELTICCIRCLE for the UK Radio Drama Festival
