Patrick Burke Author-Eleanor Troy

Chapter one from Patrick Burke's book ELEANOR TROY.
We Have great pleasure in hosting this programme from Author Patrick Burke. His new Book" Eleanor Troy" is a human story of recollections of the 2nd world war, although fiction throughout, it is told with passion and read by the Author. The listener will find this, the first chapter recorded here, compulsive listening, a very human account of one soldiers experiences in those very troubled times. Recorded and edited by Roger Allen from Kent Atelier: sound productions and archive recordings.

Received from Patrick Burke author, Sculptor, artist regarding this recording with us.
Dear Roger,
Many thanks for your efforts on my behalf.
I e-mailed a long-time American friend and asked him to listen to the broadcast.
He sent me the following:
I just finished listening to your WWII story. First of all you could read the telephone directory with that voice and enunciation and hold Albert Hall spellbound. Secondly, your writing is full of humanity and insight, about war. I was very moved by your John the Flamingo story.
I rank you with Erich Maria Remarque (All's Quiet on the Western Front) , Stephen Crane (Red Badge of Courage) and Tim Obrien (The Things they Carried).
My God, man you have a gift.
Some days life seems particularly good.
Thanks again, Patrick

Carole Russell

From his journey in life, he says in 1937 he was 22 years old , this makes him born in 1915, he doesn't look 99 years old, he is marvellous
