Michael Trevethick-A story of research and discovery

Michael Trevethick-A story of research and discovery

About the show

Kaspaar recording of Michael Trevethick, research scientist, telling us in an immensely interesting interview the story of Ventolin and asthma treatment Why did it take so long? Well it needed advances in science and a lucky mistake …but let’s start at the beginning Chinese healers described asthma as ‘wheezy breathing’. They believed it was an imbalance in the life force they called Qi (CHEE). They used treatments of herbs, acupuncture, massage, diet and exercise to correct these imbalances. Indian philosophers believed that breathing was related to a person’s soul in the connection of the mind, body.
and spirit. Yoga was used to improve both meditation and breathing technique. But let us let Michael Trevethick relate the story.
