Johnny Switchblade

Thanks DJ Craig T! Have a great week!

Nancy Sinatra and Patsy Cline are QUEENS! 💜👑💜 Idk why, but I love yodeling SO FREAKIN' MUCH! Thanks for playing W. Lee O'Daniel & His Hillbilly Boys! That made my day! 🖤🤠🖤 Don't think I've ever heard of Thinking Fellers Union Local 282? That is a mouthful! Ya think I'd remember that one! And I don't care who you are, if you don't like Shatner, we can't be friends! 😜

Johnny Switchblade

Ha, great comment, RLC! Yes, you can't beat a good bit of yodeling. Woody Guthrie sang in "Dust Pneumonia Blues": "There ought to be some yodeling in this song/but I can't yodel/cos pneumonie's in my lungs..."And yes, The Shat is legendary: look at the comments! It makes it even better that he wrote that "Has Been" number himself. Have a great week!

Hey Mr JS, great track selection as always thank you, and thanks for the educational nuggets, the harmonica of Mr SW is always a pleasure to hear, boppometer track of the week was Crazy Times 👍, the Shatner track gets a nod of respect as why not 🤣🤣, have a great week sir 😎🎶🎶😎

Johnny Switchblade

Thanks SID! I too, think that Stevie Wonder's harp on that track makes it that much better. 😎 Keep the boppometer bopping! And have a great week.

LOL!!!! good ol' William Shatner. he's such a corn ball but you can't help but like his albums . they may be awful but it's a happy awful if you can say that. really good show many surprises in this show with songs i never heard before. cheers to you again!

Johnny Switchblade

Yeah, Shatner is always good (for a laugh): "you talkin' to me?" Thanks as always, PF Lady! Have a great weekend.

Great show, Johnny. I loved the sequence toward the beginning with "Bee-Stung Lips" (awesome track) and X. Then the Williams Shatner track: I mean, what can you say in the face of such artistry? It reminded me of a Leonard Nimoy track I heard many years ago, where he, in the character of Mr. Spock, intoned a "song" with the refrain, "that's illogical." Brilliant!

Johnny Switchblade

Thanks as always, tferd! Yeah, what can be said about "The Shat" that hasn't been said? To imitate his own cadence: He's.... just.... brilliant. I agree about Splendora: one album was NOT enough for me from them (although they also did a lot of soundtrack work for the old "Daria" animated show on MTV.)

The Captain Maniac Show

For some reason, my Mixcloud feed screwed up and I was unable to hear the beginning of your show -- Mixcloud doesn't allow "free" listeners to move the music slider band back to the start (although I did listen to the rest of it), so I wondered what X track you played? Anyway, it was cool to hear the Groundhogs and the Small Faces (now-nostalgic tunes from when I was in my twenties). I always wondered in the tune Here Come The Nice, if Steve Marriott was referring to the band with Keith Emerson?

Johnny Switchblade

Yeah, I always think of "The Nice" as well when I hear it. The X tune was "In This House That I Call Home" from their 2nd album, "Wild Gift." Thanks as always, Captain!
