Hey johnny you know i bet ive heard oya coma santana i don't know maybe a million times? and every time the Hammond organ kicks in i get shivers up me spine. only a few others do that... roundabout- yes and stormy Monday jazz break by allman brothers off Fillmore east. im a sucker for any hammond organ though. very good stuff once again . congrats rg
Thanks RG: you are so right. That's one of the greatest keyboard intros ever. It puts you 'into the groove' within a few seconds... amazing. Good ol' Gregg Rolie...
YA i preferred his voice to steve perrys in journey also haha
LOL thanks for the song bro. lol
heheh.... I was waiting to reply til you got to that part. :)
Shaft is a bad mother........ Just talking bout Shaft....lol I met Isaac back in the 90's in a club I was doing sound in Detroit. He was a nice guy
Awesome !!! Rick Nelson..... He was so cool..lol I did a couple of his songs. You have to check them out some time
That would have been great, I was just thinking of Dread Zeppelin yesterday....lol I worked with those guys in Detroit, ran spot light for them. They were awesome !!! Funny guys. Gonna have to play some of them for me sometime.
Hey JB, how goes it brother ? Just getting a chance to listen to your show. Two Elvis' in a row, very cool !!!
Hi Sonny Lee! I almost played the THIRD Elvis: Tortelvis (in Dread Zeppelin.) But you have to draw the line somewhere... lol.
Thanks for the MoWest shout out! Very cool cover of The Night by Lene Lovich! I heard Overkill the other night on the way home and I finally realized how great the song was even though I always liked it. I guess events in our life can magnify what songs mean to you at a particular time in your life. The song has been in my head since and then I hear it on your show. Awesome!
Thanks Van3t! Yeah, your MoWest show led to one thing, then another, as is often the case with music, so thanks are definitely in order. :) "Overkill": it is brilliant, isn't it? And what a lovely guitar solo in the middle, too. The only way I could sing as high as Colin Hay does there would be if someone were to roll a piano over my foot while I was singing... lol.
Cheers Mark! I really appreciate your comments. :) I forgot to mention on the show, when you hear that sax at the end of the Lovich tune -- it's her playing sax! That's her instrument. As for Slipper -- you nailed it. They manage to be spooky and funny simultaneously...
