Benjamin was born at the beginning of the 80’s and quickly developed his passion for music. His father (a former DJ) made sure that albums such as Cerrone, The Temptations and other 70S-80s Soul-Disco hits where on constantly at home.
In 1999 he bought his first record decks and launched himself as a House/Electro DJ in various bars and clubs in his region. In 2000, he became part of the Monkey Treep collective, performing at their club nights. In 2003, Carlugo moved to Paris to study cinema and enrich his musical culture. It was there that he started to work closely with the Ego 6 crew and people from the Parisian house scene, mixing and producing with them.
He travels to Ibiza on a regular basis and gets a lot of inspiration from the vibe over there. From 2007 to 2010 he developped his party concept: "CHIC CHIC" working on stage with performers, musicians, singers & and fashion shows; sharling the line up with pianists like Alexandre Destrez, Laurent de Wilde; singers like Rachel Claudio, Hanna Hais and Dj/producers like Seb Dhajje, Nicolas Vautier, Oscar, David Hachour, Javi Bora, Rork, Samad, Blaise, Freddy, Tom Parris, Miss Chrysalide, Sebastien Adonis, Greg Kozo, Loulou La Cuisine, Shane, Emmanuel R...
Even though he has house music in his blood, Carlugo started producing Trip-Hop, rap, RnB, lounge, Booty Bass and various other styles of music. He has produced tracks for artists in the London and Paris underground scene.
At the moment Carlugo has been involved in the co production of several musical projects covering a wide range of styles (from rap to house to lounge)…
His most recent project/collaboration includes the creation of a band with Eva Marchal & Claude Salmiéri (French Drummer who works with Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Michel Berger, Renaud, Magma, Alain Chamfort, France Gall...etc). Carlugo also signed several tracks on Eva Marchal's new album "Mon ballon rouge".
