This upload was 23rd in the #interview chart.
This week, my guest is the brilliant Lee Harrison.
Lee was born in Kingston-Upon-Hull, the global capital of culture. There, fantastical stories and daft thoughts helped him hide from real life to survive the 80s and 90s, until Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom inspired him to study Religion at Lancaster University. This blew his mind. He negotiated his return to Hull with some short stories that were published by Route – before returning to his fantasy master-plan to write The Bastard Wonderland, a genre-wrestling fantasy which he describes as a ‘kitchen sink epic’.
I talk to Lee about his writing and his acclaimed novel (and maybe a little bit about Hull too!). And, of course, he shares his selections on this week’s Apocalypse Books.
