This week, I’m going to be getting into the festive mood (before next week’s Christmas special) with a selection of Christmas Crackers.
Once again, I’ve dipped into my folder of oddities – those little slice-of-life stories I collect, which might not make it into the history books but are still very entertaining and interesting. Rather than choosing a place to focus on this week, I’ve chosen a season! All the stories on this week’s show will be about Christmas in Manchester and the surrounding areas.
Expect complaints about the weather, nostalgia for Christmases past, Orthodox celebrations in Higher Broughton, beer-less celebrations in Crumpsall, complaints about the weather, and suspiciously suntanned police officers in Bury.
As well as these festive crackers, of course I’ll also be taking my usual look through Yesterday’s Papers on this week’s show.
Listen every Tuesday from 12-2pm, North Manchester FM, 106.6 FM
