When something is so good it make no sense refusing to listen because of the duration : I am breaking my rule of not checking production over 2 hours and tuning in my brother to this GOOD VIBE - really enjoyed the info - knowledge and music

Funky Corners

Thank you, very much, Sir. Your words mean a great deal to me. I'm really looking forward to your next musical output!

La fabrock

You kept the transitions real short ! Almost abrubt for the last few tracks !

Funky Corners

I'll have to re-listen. I don't know what I was doing! Haha

La fabrock

And the Talk Over tracks are all very nicely picked !

Funky Corners

Thank you!

La fabrock

What a treat is this end of the show ! Funky beats ! Here comes the sun is especially moving !

Funky Corners

I really like that song! I have to try to mix things up a bit and not do the same formula for every show. That's why I enjoy having you on!

La fabrock

Hehe, you're being careful with the "HH" and "RAP" terms since that show with DJ Johnny Juice. The truth is, even if that's right, and important, there is a superposition of both terms now in everyday language and it's fine with me to use either one or the other, they both convey the same meaning so your message is clear... but at the same time, you're always going to find purists to reproach you with this or that... and also, since we're on the radio, maybe we should be more careful, more demanding with ourselves and use the most appropriate term...

Funky Corners

I am! You're entirely correct, and perceptive for noticing! It's a tough call, really. I still say "hip hop" when referring to rap music, but definitely not as much as before. I'm more self-conscious about it. Haha I think it probably comes down to individual interpretation. I don' t think there is really an "official" judgment on it.

La fabrock

I don't hear the sample in Gang Starr or Group Home, did I miss something ? So good to hear these guys anyway ! And Jeru too !

Funky Corners

Nope, you're right. I only had 2 songs that sampled it -Das EFX and the Blu Black song which was right after.

La fabrock

So crazy that Das Efx was able to make such an Hip-Hop classic with such a simple instrumental ! It's basically just a bassline... The original is a bit sad but you can't tell when listening to the DAS EFX track ! Such a party anthem...

Funky Corners

As far as I know, it was produced by DJ Premier. I think we talked about him before. That he can just take one loop and make it the whole song, and somehow it's not boring. Haha

La fabrock

Primo rules !

La fabrock

So good to finally hear the original sample for that DAS EFX track ! Great pick !

Funky Corners

Thanks! I try to pick Crate Highlights in which a lot of producers sampled, but every now and then there are some very specific ones.

La fabrock

Do you mean you're willing to buy the Jazzy Jeff beat ? http://www.discogs.com/sell/release/977123?ev=rb

Funky Corners

No, I probably wasn't clear about what I was saying. Hah I want the original one on vinyl, which is "Synthetic Substitution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDHwtC5iv1U

La fabrock

Loving this instrumental hip-hop session ! This is really the best music to work to or enjoy at home while peeling potatoes !

Funky Corners

"Music for Culinary Activities" Haha I'm actually working on a mix to air this week which will be entirely just that. All instrumental beats.

La fabrock

Great news !

La fabrock

I thought the end of the sentence was gonna be "music for peeling potatoes"... hahaha
