Although we've been into dub since the first digital renaissance and basically were punks before you all were punks, we still love dubstep. not as some new wave of trend sound to be vampirized out of its soul by market forces (which, admittedly, happens, as we speak), but rather as an inspiring and uplifting part of the continuum, which was started by king tubby (or ruddy redwood, if u will) and goes on into infinity ... or so we hope. in the meantime, we tremendously enjoy the wobbly, crunky, shlompy, (Bore)gory ways of the dub as we can hear them from masters like jakes, habstrakt, niveau zero und young guns as 50 carrot and khalil. However, things don't start with dubstep, and they don't end with it, and neither does this mix.
recorded in one take one tuesday night at the trickster recording shrine. it's unedited and untampered with, and, hopefully, a lot of fun.
thanks to tabea wachsmuth for the art.
