Here it is, at long last: The much talked about African Special for which I combined new sounds and brilliant re-issues with some favourites that I never included in a mix before. Starting in Tunisia we go to the west first for some highlife and afro funk highlights from the golden age. After a short detour via Kenya we celebrate South Africa's most powerfull voices before Hailu Mergia and Mulatu Astatke gently push things into the present. This last chapter includes artists from Eritrea, La Réunion, Mali, Senegal, Kenya, Kongo, but as it is, there's also lots of input and cross-collaboratios from Paris, Belgium, UK, and even Australia. Hope you have as much fun with this as I had. Thx everyone who sent promos, and special thanks to project moonbase for introducing me to the post office workers of the university of Ghana.
