FareWell Poetry is a collective comprised of Parisian musicians (Frédéric D. Oberland, Eat Gas, Colin JohnCo, Stéphane Pigneul & Stanislas Grimbert) and an Anglo-saxon poet and filmmaker (Jayne Amara Ross). Situated somewhere between a sleep-starved Man Ray, the musical ventures of the Beat Generation poets, the visually flamboyant performances of Throbbing Gristle or the Velvet Underground and the feverous instrumental intensity of Constellation’s first releases, FareWell Poetry draws creative inspiration from a trance-like state and hungers for new boundaries to push back, new doors to open.
Jayne reads from The Gita Govinda by the Indian poet Jayadeva (12th Century A.D) translated into English by Sir Edwin Arnold (New Humanity Books, 1990).
Their album 'Hoping for the Invisible to Ignite' is out on Gizeh Records/Kompakt in Limited Deluxe LP+DVD, CD+DVD, and DL formats.
