One of the most talented, authentic and creative individuals I've discovered over the last 12 months - Nathan Moody. Originally an artist/painter, Nathan moved into music in the 90s, making instruments as part of his career as a sound designer for anything from commercial work, to the quiet intimacy of arthouse and stop motion. Nathan is also a renowned mastering engineer, operatng under the name Obsidian Sound; however, it's his work as a composer that we're focusing on tonight. Through his vast back catalogue, one thing that's clear is that music like Nathan's simply wouldn't exist had he not made them. It's almost impossible to pigeonhole Nathan's work in genre terms, but there are I think subtle references to shoegaze with some pieces; however, it all seems seasoned with an almost industrial elegance.
