You can never stop studying. In my opinion, to stop studying is to stop, period. It means you have nothing else to learn. – Henry Threadgill [Interview in the Austin Chronicle, 4/6/17]

What I don't understand is the marked difference for me using the same equipment for both. "Spin The Globe" has the same issue for me. thanks for checking

I understand that this show was produced about a year ago, and the music comes through just fine, but the voice microphone muddles the sound> I've run into this with another "live" show. Great music, thanks

Thanks for the heads-up Tadit. Just went through all the breaks on the Mixcloud site for this show. Sounds fine here, but then you could be hearing my sinuses 'talking' a bit, since it's that time of year:). But do appreciate you pointing this out. Best regards and thanks for listening, DrJ

The Tempest

Loved the BN selections this week. The Procastinator is one I dont have... I need to add that to the collection. Also loved the Charlie Hunter into Antonio Sanchez. Great show as always...

Thanks T! For the August 'BN', the gang went on vacation. So we've programmed several other 50th anniversaries from other labels and a selection of vintage piano from the BN catalog from more than 50 years ago. I'm glad at least one listener caught that CH>AS segue! Almost show-time here. Have a weekend, DrJ

The Lemon Circus

Dr's in the house "Indeed he is" :) nice! Oblique was xylophone heaven with some crazy cool cats on those tingling-a-ding-dongs. Til then had more of the same but calmed down a bit. Sugar foot stomp a treat from the vaults and a sultry tune from stanley turrentine, I was about to say the first one 'the look of love', but 'you want me to stop loving you' is of equal sultryness :) A fine performance from the Dr moving through the furniture this week in style. A true quote too - I stopped at 16, I know of what I speak :D

Ah, you're too tough on yourself! You are a true student of human nature. Otherwise, TLC wouldn't exist! You and 'xylo'; vibes, man, vibes.......Unplug them and it's a xylophone:) Glad you enjoyed the 'furniture' and hope we didn't scrape up the floors too much. Thanks for listening & have a good week. Cheers, DrJ

Guido's Lounge Café

Indeed! Play it loud. Have a good week! Best, DrJ

The Soul Preacher

(Turrentine: Return Of The Prodigal Son) ... the last song did it for me ... "taking care of business is truly this man's game" ... :-) Stanley and Aretha BTW also recorded together on her album "Soul ’69".
