Ben & Gerry - beautiful!

Indeed. That Mulligan/Webster session is so fine. Granz knew how to put people together. One of my 1st LP purchases from long ago. It's a shame that similar projects aren't done with today's artists. Wouldn't a Marsalis/Douglas or a Branford/Potter set be interesting? Best, DrJ

The Lemon Circus

Top opening track for your March birthdays show and I'm sure it has a rather unambiguous political reference - or am I being too cynical? Don't think it couldn't have been played over the last 8 years either. Also hope our friend Carlisle enjoys his big day :) got more Ornette Coleman this week too considering I borrowed Old Gospel you'd think I could identify the artist by now. Calling Dr Jazz, nice name drop regardless of which came first. Enjoyed the xylophones on Merry Lee or vibraphones I never can tell... keeping it strong Dr J :)

You're not being too cynical; we let the music do the talking:) Vibes on Merry Lee (they have a 'reverb' vs. a 'clean' tone for xylos); you'll get it eventually. Thanks for listening and have a great week. Cheers, DrJ
