I'm catching up, but slowly. Another fine selection Doc - thanks!

The monthly birthday specials are always a treat for me to program, too. I pick out good cuts individually, and then challenge myself to program them in an intelligent way. More work than most shows, but always rewarding. Cheers, DrJ

The Soul Preacher

"All Soul" is what the name promises. What a lovely laid back tune. I miss so many records from the Atlantic Jazz Series. If I can express a wish for next year it would be a special by Dr Jazz. ... It's my fourth time tuning into that Hubert Laws tune in less than an hour. This tune really found me -- it's so wonderful! I will haunt this record for sure. Also thanks for the Herbie Hancock recommendations. Partly I do have them and the rest is on my shopping list now.

Yeh! Every once & awhile, there's a song that grabs you and won't let go. I have access to the Atlantic discography and I will put this on my 'to do' list for 2015. Maybe Kingcake can do something like this, as well. Give him a holler. Best, and thanks for your ears, DJ

Ruth Fisher

You were right! Stuffing envelopes is far more enjoyable listening to your shows! Love this one!

Indeed! A new use for G&M. Glad to be of service, ma'am!:) Cheers, DrJ

The Lemon Circus

You set the scene no doubt about that - blazing introduction tunes Star Eyes a real alarm call - jazz coffee :) then it was manic jamming all the way to a night at Toni's a marked shuffle of the notes back into some kind of routine - albeit not fully trained ;) when the saints - just a beautiful melody - also was in a place with the swinging Big Butter tune mixed well with Oh Baby, Sad twilight was personally my fave track here - just ... indescribable, perfect comes close. fine show to open with today - have a most pleasant week Dr J :)

Ah ha! You've given me a new catch phrase for an uptempo track (Woods): jazz caffeine! Well done. Good ears; Sad Twilight is a gem of a melody, and Byron has the perfect arrangement for it. Open, air and stark. I've got something special for you and Jamie for the next show. Pay attention during the first half of hour 2...Cheers, DrJ
