Bursting on the Top-40 scene in 1962 with "Let's Dance", Chris Montez was subsequently unearthed by Herb Alpert as a gentle crooner of standards such as "The More I See You" and M.O.R. tunes of the day like Tony Hatch's "Call Me". Here's a nice relatively short mix showcasing the style that was his alone. As the man in the mix says, "And now the star of our show, Mr. Chris Montez!"
