So - after doing an eighties mix, it seemed only natural to follow up with the next significant period in music, "the Baggy years", named after that peculiar style of jeans favoured by The Happy Mondays and The Stone Roses. The mix brings indie dance, hip hop and house music together in one happy collision (with a couple of slight liberties taken, date-wise). This is the era that I made my professional debut as a DJ and I have to say it brings back a lot of happy memories.
Also, an apology: in a startling oversight, not only did I omit The Happy Mondays when I made the mix, but I actually did include Dr Alban. For this I blame Paul Oakenfold, he was a big influence on my career at this time and he played "Sing Hallelujah" on his Radio One Essential Mix, and it obviously struck a chord.
