Playing tracks by
Pilldriver, Zenith, Strychnine, Lenny Dee, Chosen Few and more.
This is a re-recording of the set I played at North Radical Technology's 14th Birthday @ Motion Skate Park Complex in Bristol on Feb 11th 2011. With only 45 minutes to play Hardcore Techno classics from the 95-2000 era of the infamous Steam nightclub in Rhyl & also the early 'Deathrow Techno North' nights which I played at towards the end of the last millenium, it was very difficult to choose just a handful of records from so many bangers. I tried to span across as many artists/labels/countries as possible.. if anything the selection may be weighted a little too much towards the music and labels of Lenny Dee, but this probably just reflects the enormous impact he had upon the music at that time. (The oldest track in the mix is his release on Edge 10 from 1993, a tune which is now almost 2o years old.. you may be able to hear this from the amount of crackle audible on the vinyl !) The mix was done in one take with no edits on 2 x Technics 1200s and a Rane mixer, all vinyl of course.
