DJ Danny Crash - Acid House Selection, '87/'88 era

I wasn’t of age to be out raving during the late 80s Acid explosion, but when I did start DJing in the mid 90s, I felt I needed to learn about where all of the music I was playing came from, and so I received my education by digging through the record crates of Mike Lewis of N-Trance 'Set You Free' fame, who for whatever reason was flogging his entire collection in a small seaside town shop which seemed to have only one lucky customer - me. This is by no means a definitive Acid House selection, it’s just some of the tunes which made my ears buzz when I first dropped the needle. This is a re-recording of the set I did for North Radical Technology’s 15th Birthday @ Motion Skate Park in Bristol in March 2012, where from a line up of 50 or so DJs, I was one of about 5 using vinyl, (!) and I guess was the DJ to play the oldest record aired that night, dating from 1987 but still as thumping as when it was first pressed and I was 7 years old.

Wicked mix man, Used to listen to Mike Lewis show on Sunset 102 Manchester back in the early 90s. Sounded like a top bloke. Was a great show. That pirate station must of had one hell of a transmitter because we were in north wales and used to pick it up nice and clear. Crazy to think how old these tunes are now. Love it although I was only 10 in 87. My first vinyl was bought from woolies and was stakker - humanoid so wasnt such a bad era to grow up in. Large up on the mix bruv.
